WizzAir Katowice Half Marathon 2021 to wydarzenie, które – po zmianie terminu z majowego – miało odbyć się 19 czerwca 2021 r. w Katowicach. Tym razem z formule biegu nocnego! Rozgrywanie wydarzenie zostało przerwane w odniesieniu do półmaratonu, a biegi na 5km i 10km udało się zakończyć.

Pierwsza edycja biegu odbyła się 10 czerwca 2018 roku, a główna baza zawodów funkcjonowała w ścisłym centrum Katowic, pod Spodkiem. W wydarzeniu wzięło udział prawie 3 500 biegaczy z całego świata, a liczbę uczestników imprezy szacuje się na 10 000.
Druga edycja to już 4 000 biegaczy i ponad 12 000 obecnych na placu
w sercu Ślaska. Do trzech razy sztuka, organizatorzy zakładają, że na starcie biegów stanie co najmniej 5 000 biegaczy, a całe popołudnie stanie się sportowym i społecznym świętem, w którym będą uczestniczyć nie tylko biegacze, ale całe rodziny.
Jednym z istotniejszych elementów trzeciej edycji Wizz Air Katowice Half Marathon będą Mistrzostwa Polski Night Runners.

Wizz Air Katowice Half Marathon is an event that has turned the heads of the runners, charmed local residents and integrated various communities in the spirit of sports involvement. Wizz Air – the biggest low-cost airline in the south-eastern Europe became, on the 5th of April 2018, the titular sponsor of the one of the biggest and the most important running events in Poland.

On June 19th, 2021 we will run through the heart of Silesia for the third time. First time by night!

We start by Spodek in order to finish the distance of half marathon in amazing night scenery of Katowice.

21,097 km – half marathon,
10 km – accompanying race,
5 km – accompanying race,
4 x 5 km – relay.

Wizz Air airlines are much involved in promoting active lifestyle. They took the titular sponsorship over few other running events in their European operating bases. Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon, Wizz Air Debrecen Airport Run, Wizz Air Kyiv City Marathon, Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon, Wizz Air Sofia Marathon and Wizz Air Skopje Marathon are very popular running events among the runners and tourists.

The 1st edition took place on the 10th of June 2018 and the main events center was located near Spodek in the heart of Katowice. There were almost 3,500 runners from all over the world and the estimated number of all participants was around 10,000.

Second edition gathered almost 4,000 runners and over 12,000 people at the square in the heart of Silesia. Organizers assume there will be at least 5,000 runners at the start line will become sport and social celebration in which not only runners will participate, but whole families.
One of the important elements of the 3rd edition of Wizz Air Katowice Half Marathon will be the Night Runners Poland’s Championship.

The entry lists are available from the 1st of October 2019 and the biggest advantage is the attractive starting package containing 20 euro worth Wizz Air voucher. The price of the package starts at 49PLN. The running conditions are adjusted to all levels and to the age of runners, so there will be a lot of enjoyment for whole families.
