The 2020 London Marathon will be the 40th running of the annual marathon race in London, United Kingdom, which will take place on Sunday, 4 October. The race was originally scheduled to be held on 26 April, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The organisers of the Virgin Money London Marathon have now confirmed plans for The 40th Race on Sunday 4 October.
General entries to the first virtual Virgin Money London Marathon have sold out with 45,000 places taken up for this unique version of the world’s greatest marathon.
Following the announcement that the London Marathon could not take place in its usual format on Sunday 4 October, runners across the UK – and worldwide – were invited to complete The 40th Race – Your Way.
